While lawmakers are working to resolve the precarious legal limbo of "Dreamers," the termination of the Temporary Protected Status program has received far less attention and could have equally devastating impacts on families and the economy.
The Temporary Protected Status Program is a humanitarian program that provides an opportunity for those who have fled natural disaster and conflicts in their home country. The men and women in this program, many who have now been in the United States for decades, are crucial to the construction industry.
An estimated 50,000 TPS holders work in the construction industry - literally building America.
