LIUNA Training Fund



Training and New Opportunity

LIUNA members have access to the best continuing education program in North America. And it's free. LIUNA training includes more than 50 different courses, opening the doors to new opportunity and advancement. Classes are available in every state in the U.S. and every province in Canada and provide valuable learning in skills such as hazardous materials remediation, remote tunneling, concrete work and an array of building construction skills.Training helps employers compete with higher productivity and quality, and helps workers earn more and work more safely.

Training Funds

LIUNA training includes more than 50 different courses, opening the doors to new opportunity and advancement for members and providing contractors with the skills they need. Classes are available in every state in the U.S. and every province in Canada and provide valuable learning in areas such as hazardous materials remediation, remote tunneling, concrete work and an array of building construction skills.

Continuing Education  

The United Association for Labor Education (UALE) provides union leaders and members with additional information on various educational institutions that offer labor degree and certificate programs,  such as the Cornell Labor Studies Program, and the UC Berkeley Center for Labor Research and Education.

The University of Massachusetts Amherst offers two Master's degree programs in Labor Studies. They include both a traditional graduate program for young activists, and a limited-residency program for union leaders and activists already working in the labor movement. 

Union Plus Scholarships

The Union Plus Scholarship Program awards university, college, trade school or technical scholarships to students of working families who want to begin or continue their post-secondary education. The program has awarded more than $3.5 million to over 2,300 students.
