Senate Can Score Major Victory by Supporting Keystone

Manufacturers and LIUNA Call on Congress to Support Jobs and Growth

Washington, D.C., November 18, 2014 - National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) President and CEO Jay Timmons and Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA) General President Terry O'Sullivan released this joint statement prior to the Senate vote on S. 2280, a bill to approve the Keystone XL pipeline:

"Manufacturers and LIUNA members call on the Senate to act to approve a project that will create tens of thousands of jobs, contribute $3.4 billion to our economy and enhance our energy security. Voters overwhelmingly cast their ballots on November 4 for a Congress that will support bipartisan efforts like the Keystone XL pipeline that grow the economy and spur job creation. Congress can score a major victory for economic growth by putting partisan politics aside and passing legislation to approve this project."

Manufacturers and LIUNA members have been at the forefront of efforts  to encourage the President to approve the Keystone XL pipeline as part of a partnership for continued collaboration on shared critical energy priorities.
