The Laborers’ Northern California District Council and the Southern California District Council awarded $412,000 in scholarships to 166 dependents of LIUNA members in California for the 2014 academic year. The scholarships help students attending community colleges and universities in California and throughout the country cover secondary education expenses.

“This is one of the greatest ways our organization, LIUNA, can give back to its members; by providing their children an academic scholarship they otherwise might not have received,” said Southern California District Council Business Manager, Armando Esparza.
