THERE ARE TWO (2) TYPES OF DUES
Base dues are $32.00 a month. Your base dues are not taken out of your payroll check. They are due at the beginning of every month and you can pay as many months in advance as your want. You cannot let your dues lapse more then 60 days past due or you will be suspended and have to pay a penalty to be reinstated without notice. If you would like to have your base dues automatically deducted from your vacation account, please call the office and a card will be sent out to you. Simply fill the card out and return it. Funds must be available in your account.
Working Dues are $.85 per hour for every hour you work. Your employer pays $2.10 per hour into your vacation account. If you filled out a deduction card this amount will automatically be paid once a month from your vacation account, and $1.35 will remain in your account for every hour your work. If you have not yet filled out a deduction card please call the office to do so. If you let your base dues lapse more then 60 days, you will be suspended from the International Union. In order to get back into good standing with the union, you will have to pay a penalty. This amount will increase for every month you are suspended. For each month you are in arrears, your dues will increase to $40.00 per month. This amount is mandated by the International Union of North America.
Membership in good standing is a condition of employment with the Union Contractor.

OUT OF WORK LIST (OWL)
According to the Minnesota and North Dakota AMENDED JOB REFERRAL RULES
Article 3 Section D: Registration of Availability for Referral: Applicants shall be removed from the out-of-work list upon receiving a job referral, subject to the provisions at §4C on short-term referrals. An applicant who is laid off or discharged from a job must again register his or her availability in order to be included on the out-of-work list. (In other words: if you are dispatched for a job and this job does not last 5 days, it is your responsibility to contact the Union Hall and report your lay off. Failure to advise the Local Union will result in your name being removed from the out-of-work list).
Amended Rule 3 to incorporate the language below: A Local Union may require an administrative fee to cover the costs of administering the out-of-work list from those applicants who are not current or who do not otherwise pay dues, fees and assessments to the Local Union administering the list. The amount of the administrative fee is not to exceed the monthly dues amount, and will be credited toward the initiation fees, reinstatement fees or union dues upon the request of an applicant who is eligible for Union membership.
Article 3 Section E: Referral Procedure: Any applicant who refuses or is unavailable for two consecutive referrals shall be moved to the bottom of the out-of-work list. An applicant must be unavailable on two separate days before he/she can be move to the bottom of the out-of-work list. An applicant will be considered unavailable if he or she cannot be reached during set referral hours of 7:00 am-10:00 am. During referral hours, a single call of no less than 10 rings will be made to qualified applicants in order. An applicant who cannot be reached during referral hours will be deemed “unavailable.” “Off hour request” that are made outside the hours of 7:00 am-10:00 am will be met by placing a single call of no less than 10 rings to each applicant in order, as qualified. If an applicant cannot be reached for an “off hour request,” the applicant shall not be deemed “unavailable”. If an applicant is reached for an “off hour request” and refuses a job, it shall be deemed a “refusal”. The Locals will make every attempt to make all referral calls during the set referral hours. In urgent situations, when a job must be filled before the start of business the following day, referral calls may be made outside of the set referral hours (“off hour request”), and the urgent nature of the request will be documented in detail.
Re-Registration: If you are on the list, at the end of each qarter you will receive a re-registration form in the mail. Failure to return your re-registration in the time specified will result in removing your name from the list and you will not be put back on until you call the office. It is also YOUR responsiblity to inform the Local when you return back to work or change your address or phone number.
