AFL Endorsement Delayed But Cannot Be Denied
Washington, D.C. (February 22, 2016) – Terry O’Sullivan, General President of LIUNA – the Laborers’ International Union of North America – made the following statement today in response to the AFL-CIO’s decision not to hold a vote on a presidential endorsement at next week's meeting:
LIUNA is proud and honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with the majority of America’s labor unions in support of Secretary Hillary Clinton. While it appears that there will not be a presidential endorsement vote at the upcoming AFL-CIO executive council meeting, it does not change the fact that more than a majority of AFL-CIO affiliated unions have already endorsed her for President.
With the hardworking men and women of LIUNA and millions of other fellow union members already behind her, Secretary Hillary Clinton is on her way to winning her party’s nomination and the election as the 45th President of the United States of America.
The half-million members of LIUNA – the Laborers’ International Union of North America – are on the forefront of the construction industry, a powerhouse of workers who are proud to build America.
