The Construction and Specialized Workers' Union Local 1111 received its Charter from the Labourers’ International Union of North America on July 2, 1948. Since then we have been representing the proud men and women who build our roads, bridges, sidewalks, sewers, condominiums, schools, hospitals, office buildings, oil & gas facilities, pipelines and much more of what drives the Alberta economy.

Our members come from all walks of life and all parts of the world. We are proud to represent both established and new Canadians. Our union is inclusive in all areas and we fight discrimination on all our jobsites. As an affiliate of the Labourers' International Union of North America (LiUNA), we fight for the rights of workers across North America, and in co-operation with the Building Trades Unions and our own affiliates, we have access to the resources required to affect real change.
